In the framework of development of relations and cooperation with various institutions and partners within and outside the country, a delegation of the Albanian Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (AIITC) conducted a courtesy visit to the Egyptian Embassy in Tirana.
The purpose of the visit was the presentation with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Mohamed Khalil, recently accredited in Albania, to congratulate him on his noble mission and to convey to him the desire of AIITC’s staff for maintaining good relations and co-operation between the two institutions.
The delegation which consisting of dr. Faruk Borova, Chairman of the Directive Board AIITC, Prof. As. Dr. Ramiz Zekaj, Chairman of AIITC, Ambassador Shaban Murati, member of the Board and Mrs. Anisa Hykaj, coordinator of international relations was welcomed by Mr. Ambassador.
From his part, Mr. Khalil said the best words for Albania, pointing out the old cultural links between the two nations and the importance that continue to have the good relations between our two countries.
On the side Dr. Borova welcomed and wished success to Mr. Khalil for his new mission in Albania. He expressed his appreciation for the support that the Egyptian Embassy has given to the cultural and educational institutions in Albania in particular to AIITC. As they reminded and re-evaluated the contribution of Al-Azhar University for scholarships for Albanian students during 90s.
Afterwards AIITC’s Chairman, Prof. As. Dr. Ramiz Zekaj expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Egypt in Albania for the fruitful cooperation that the two institutions have over many years. He expressed his will for more future cooperation and in this context presented several projects related with the field of culture, education and Islamic heritage.
On this occasion some of the most recent publications of AIITC including the book dedicated to the Albanian dynasty that founded the new state of Egypt where gifted to Mr. Ambassador.
On the other hand, H.E Mohamed Khalil, thanked the delegation for the visit. He really appreciated the so far relationship between them. Also discussed the ways of developing the relations between their Institution and relevant institutions in Egypt.
