One of the pillars of the activity of Albanian Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization is strengthening partnership relations with cultural institutions, religious studies in the region. In this regard, a delegation of AIITC, part of which were, the Chairman of the Board of Directors dr. Faruk Borova and Chairman of the Institute prof. as. dr. Ramiz Zekaj held an official meeting with the Istanbul Mufti, prof. dr. H. Kamil Yıllmaz.
Present at this meeting was also Mr. Ismet Qazimi, one of the oldest associates of the Institute from the Albanian diaspora in the Middle East.
After welcoming the delegation, Istanbul's Mufti spoke about the centuries-old relationships of Albania and Turkey. "Sami Frashëri - he said - gave us the vocabulary and Mehmet Akifi the national anthem, while over 27 prime ministers in the Ottoman Empire were Albanians, so we have obligations towards Albanians."
On his part, Dr. Faruk Borova thanked the Mufti for his welcoming and confirmed his words, emphasizing the need for continuity of these relations.
While the AIITC Chairman presented the Institute's activities and joint projects being developed with counterpart institutions in Ankara, Istanbul. He also talked about new projects of Institute agenda for the following year, for the realisation of which the institute is looking for partners.
